And with the onset of the current recession it is even more important that students succeed – there is more competition at the schools that they might want to attend and even more competition for financial aide.
Having said that, the first thing that we think – let’s all step back and take a deep breath!
What do the student’s actually need to be successful on these exams?

An experienced instructor who has a firm grasp of the varied test taking strategies for each of the exams;

SMALL GROUP OR PERSONALIZED INSTRUCTION
American Tutors Online offers two formats for SAT™ & ACT® Prep™ - small group – offered as either a Full course or as a Mini-course and One-to-One personalized tutoring.
The Full small group course (NO MORE THAN 12 STUDENTS) is 24 or 26 (ACT®) Hours in length over a 5 week period just before the exam and includes an initial diagnostic test and three practice tests. After the diagnostic test week during which time the exam is graded, classes meet twice per week for 2 hours. The Mini-course also meets over a 5 week period but only meets once a week and covers either the Mathematics, Science (ACT
®
), or the Reading and Writing Sections and is designed for students who only feel they need assistance in a portion of the SAT™ or ACT
®
exam.

DEVELOP CONFIDENCE
Working under the tutelage of our highly trained staff and in a small group setting the objective is to increase each student’s emotional confidence and SAT™ and/or their ACT® scores 150-400 points.
That said, it must be understood that achieving this goal takes student dedication to the SAT™/ACT® test preparation process including attendance at all scheduled online sessions and completion in a timely manner of all homework assignments.
Also, we suggest that students practice, practice and more practice so that they become easily comfortable with the instructions and formats, etc.
INITIAL DIAGNOSTIC TEST
Included in the course will be a sophisticated and individualized SAT™ or ACT® evaluation for each student based on real SAT™ and ACT® practice tests in a simulated test-taking environment. This evaluation, which will be administered at the beginning of each SAT™ and ACT® course,
will provide the student and instructor diagnostic information that will be used to focus study work during the class. Note: Students enrolled in the Mini-Courses will take the complete Diagnostic Test.
STRATEGIES
Included will be general and specific problem strategies to maximize each student’s results on the SAT™ and ACT® exams.
Students will also learn and practice alternative strategies and methods to solve certain types of questions and will practice self-pacing for the lengthy exams.

TUITION
Fees are as follows (including all materials and Diagnostic Test (except a calculator) :
Complete 24 hour SAT ™ and 26 hour ACT ® Prep ™ courses -- $ 295.00 for SAT ™ and 325 for ACT ® ;
SAT ™ Mini-Courses of 12 hours for either the Verbal or Math Sections -- $ 189.00
ACT ® Mini-Courses of 12 hours for Verbal - $ 189.00 and $ 219.00 for Math/Science
To achieve a proper count, American Tutors Online SAT

require full tuition upon course registration and a seat is not guaranteed until the tuition has been paid.
There is a $100.00 cancellation fee and all cancellations must be made at least 14 days prior to the start of each session. No money will be refunded for cancellations made less than 14 days from the start of each SAT
™
and ACT
®
Prep course.

Make-up sessions can be arranged on a One-to-One basis at $ 50.00 per hour subject to the Tutor’s and student’s schedule.
