Types of Tutoring

ONE-TO-ONE TUTORING

The American Tutors Online™ core service is providing high quality One-to-One tutoring services that are focused on the client's success. In that regard, we firmly believe that success can be achieved at all levels of academic performance.

Our process starts with an assessment/evaluation of the student and situation which is performed by the Education Director and Tutor and who will work with the student. No up-front fees are charged for the initial assessment nor do we develop a "set in stone" long term education plan that requires a contract on the part of the parents. Our philosophy is that student performance is a "work in progress" so tutors assist the students until they, the student or the parent's are satisfied that the education objective has been achieved.

The parents are asked to complete a confidential application that requests information from their perspective. In addition, the Tutor will evaluate the student's strengths and weaknesses and discusses these findings with the Director. Finally, with written permission, the Education Director will confidentially discuss the student with the classroom teacher and/or guidance counselor. Depending on the specific circumstances, the Tutor may also require some diagnostic testing to complete the assessment however it is our policy to avoid unnecessary testing as well as the expense of testing.

TUTORING BUDDIES™

In these trying times, American Tutors Online™ offers a unique and cost effective service. Many students have friends or relatives who are in the same grade and who require tutoring services in the same subject area. Recognizing this, American Tutors Online™ offers a Two or Three-to-One tutoring program for its clients. The Tutoring Buddies™ Service relies on the clients to create the duo or group to be tutored. Once the duo or group is established by the client students and parents, the American Tutors Online™ staff will assign an appropriate Tutor to provide the services. Just as in the One-to-One service, parents will receive feedback within 24 hours of each session. Because two or three students are being tutored at once, we are able to offer lower prices to each student's parents. Tutoring Buddies™ is another way in which we try to serve our clients with success based, cost effective and caring educational services.
